titles, including books by three National Artists: The Dances of the
Emerald Isles by Leonor Orosa Goquingco, Patterns for the Filipino

Beaulah's latest children's books are the six Philippine versions of Alice
McLerran's story The Mountain That Loved A Bird. Originally written
in English and illustrated by Eric Carle, the story is now available in
the Philippines in English, Filipino, Ilokano, Hiligaynon, Kinaray-a, and
Cebuano. The illustrations consist of totally new artwork created by
Beaulah, drawn from the landscapes of the Philippines.

Through their new company Mother Tongue Publishing Inc., Beaulah
and her husband Mario plan to create and publish many, many more
books for children everywhere, written in the mother tongue that these
children first hear and speak right after they are born.
